Using Policies with Recurring Bills

The most efficient way to manage recurring clients is to combine recurring bill templates with reminder policies. When you apply a policy to a recurring bill template, every new bill generated in the series automatically gets the full chase schedule applied.

This means you set it up once and JustPayMe handles all the chasing for that client indefinitely. The policy chases are created when the bill is generated and recalculated automatically if the due date ever changes.

For retainer clients you trust, a light-touch policy (one reminder 3 days before and one on the due date) is usually sufficient. For newer clients or those with a history of late payment, use a more intensive policy.

Related tips

Recurrence Frequency

How often a recurring bill is generated. Options include weekly, fortnightly, monthly, quarterly, and annually. Each cycle creates a new bill with an updated due date.

Reminder Policy

A reminder policy defines a reusable schedule of chase steps (e.g. email 3 days before due, WhatsApp on due date, SMS 7 days after). Assign a policy to a bill and chases are generated automatically.

Next Due Date

The calculated due date for the next bill in a recurring series. JustPayMe generates the next bill automatically once the current one is marked paid or the due date passes.
