How Policy Resolution Works

Policy resolution is the process JustPayMe uses to keep chase schedules in sync with bill details. When you edit a bill's due date, any pending policy-driven chases are automatically recalculated.

For example, if a bill was due on the 10th and you extend it to the 20th, a chase that was scheduled for the 17th (7 days after original due date) is moved to the 27th (7 days after the new due date).

Chases that have already been sent are never modified — resolution only affects pending future steps. Manual chases are also not affected by policy resolution; only steps generated from a policy are recalculated.

If you remove a policy from a bill, the pending policy chases are cancelled. Any already-sent chases remain in the timeline for record-keeping.

Policy Resolution

When a bill's due date or amount changes, JustPayMe recalculates any pending policy-driven chases to match the new dates. This happens automatically — you don't need to manually update each chase.

Reminder Policy

A reminder policy defines a reusable schedule of chase steps (e.g. email 3 days before due, WhatsApp on due date, SMS 7 days after). Assign a policy to a bill and chases are generated automatically.
