Help/Getting Started/Sending Your First Chase

Sending Your First Chase

A chase is a reminder sent to your client asking them to pay an outstanding bill. JustPayMe only chases bills that are overdue — meaning the due date has passed and the bill is unpaid.

To send your first chase, open an overdue bill and tap "Add Chase". You can write a custom message or choose a tone (friendly, formal, or firm) and let the AI draft it for you. Select the channel (email, SMS, or WhatsApp) and schedule when it should be sent.

Chases are always sent by the system on a schedule — never immediately from the UI. This gives you time to review and cancel if needed. Once sent, you'll see the delivery and read status update in the chase timeline.

Chase Steps

A chase step is a single reminder message sent via email, SMS, or WhatsApp. Multiple steps together form a chase sequence. Each step can use a different channel and tone depending on how overdue the bill is.

Bill Status

Bills move through several statuses: Draft (not yet sent to client), Active (sent, awaiting payment), Overdue (past due date, unpaid), and Paid. Only overdue bills trigger chase reminders.
