Understanding chase rates

The Chase performance section of the Analytics page gives you three rate metrics for each channel.

Delivery rate is the percentage of sent chases that reached the recipient. For email, delivery failures typically mean invalid addresses or spam filtering. For SMS and WhatsApp, failures usually mean the phone number is wrong or the recipient has blocked messages. A delivery rate below 90% is worth investigating.

Read rate measures how many delivered chases were actually opened. Email read rate is tracked via a pixel — clients who block tracking pixels will show as unread even if they opened the message. WhatsApp read receipts are more reliable. A low read rate suggests your subject lines or preview text need work.

Response rate is the most important chase metric. It measures the percentage of chases that resulted in a reply, a payment, or a commitment to pay. Improving response rate usually comes from better timing, better tone, and personalisation. Pair this with the Collection rate KPI to see whether those responses translate into actual payments.

Delivery Rate

The percentage of sent chases that were successfully delivered to the recipient's inbox or phone. A low delivery rate may indicate invalid email addresses or phone numbers.

Read Rate

The percentage of delivered chases that were opened or read by the recipient. Tracked via email open tracking and WhatsApp read receipts. Higher read rates suggest the subject line and channel are effective.

Response Rate

The percentage of chases that resulted in a reply or payment action from the client. This is the most important metric — it tells you how effective your reminders are at prompting payment.
